Awesome! Great idea to support this man.
Tofino people tend to keep everything so hidden and politely quiet. What will the tourists think?
Yes, most people don't like the farms, and we all know someone who knows someone who has a job at a fish plant, or at the handful of the jobs at the farms. And yes, we all want First Nations to have jobs, BUt NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF WILD SALMON, (and therefore whales, eagles, bears, diving birds, dolphins, the whole marine system actually, nature based eco tour jobs,...etc)
I have heard First Nations people say "yes, please speak up against the fish farms. We don't like them either. This decision was made by some elected leaders it is not a decision made by all of us."

Tofino wants to advertise as WILD and NATURAL, yet under the water, out of sight out of mind, lurks some very deadly infectious diseases, pollution, toxic chemicals, antibiotic drugs, strangled seals and sea lions, etc, etc etc.

Awesome newspaper that dares to report controversial topics. Hurrah. Finally.

Hi Don, Thanks for dropping a line. Due to the gigs we have here in Tofino, we have to swim below the surface. Love what you're doing and we are happy to help get the word out and support anyway we can. Very interested in the court case: would be great to publish the transcripts but we can't find out how to access those. If you'd like them out there - we've got the bandwidth and would love to make it all accessible. Drop us an email anytime to ohyeah@truetofinonews.com. Take care Don.
